Her faverite activeity would probally be running she loves to race Ellen all the time and she always wins Ellen is an 10 year old girl who lives in copenhagen denmark. She lives with her mom and dad. She is jewish and her life is endanger because of that. Her best friend is Annemarie Johansen. Ellen is also very smart and nice and of cousre pretty. Kiristi is an careless 5 year old girl she lives with her mom, dad and sister Annemarie she loves to play with dolls. She is energetic, talkitive, and foolish little girl. CH. 1 In the beginning Ellen and Annemarie are racing down the street when two naziz stop them and ask them questions then they go home and there mom and dad are listening to kirsti talking about what happened but now tommarow they have to go a diffrent way to school so they don't remember there faces so they can be one of the crowd.
CH. 2 Annemarie tells Kiristi a story about a king and a queen but when she fell asleep she told us about king christan X and also told us about her sister lise who had died two weeks before her wedding.
CH. 3 Kirstis jacket button broke so she goes to her friends button shop to find that its closed but now Peter lises widowed fiance comes over and tells Annemaries parents that The naziz are going to be taking the jews to diffrent places becouse they are diffrent. When Annemarie and her mom go to the button shop there is none there it has closed.
CH. 4 Ellen now has to stay with Annmarie because her parents are going to a diffrent country with peter so they dont get killed by the naziz.
CH.5 In chapter five Ellen and Annemarie where sleeping when they heard THree Naziz walk into the house then they came into Annemarie and Ellens room and they had to ripe off the star of david off her neck then they where quetioned about who they where and the naziz stopped on the pictures.
CH. 6 Ellen and Annemarie and her mom and Kirsti are going to there uncle henriks house so the german soilders dont go to school looking for them on the train two Naziz ask them two questions but they werent suspius then they walked to there uncles house with everone.
CH.7 Ellen and Annemarie are at the house and there looking at the water and they found a kitten and they finally meet uncle henrik he came back from fishing.
CH.8 Annemarie found out she had an dead great aunt brite who had died but she wasnt real it was trick for the naziz.
CH.9 Annemarie and Ellen where at the funeral when Ellens mom and dad came to there house and many other people she didnt know who came to the funeral.
CH. 10 A woman with a baby and an old guy had came for the funeral then the nazizis barged in and said they had a suspetcius number of guest then told mom to open the casket but she said she had thypus so he left then he started to say a paslm. CH. 11 Everone is being taken to sweden to escape the nazi on a boat uncle henrik is taking then they all have old clothes and blankets and food to bring with. first the old man and the couple left then in 20 minutes mama is suposed to take Ellen and her parents out to go across to sweden. CH.12 Annemaries mom is takeing the rosens to the peer to get them on the boat with uncle henrik to bring them to sweden annemarie went inside and dozed off in the chair it was two thirty her mom should be back at three thirty she awoke at four she couldnt find her mom she looked out the window and saw her mom laying on the earths surface. CH.13 Annemarie found her mom who had hurt her ankle the families where safe but her mom forgot to gve uncle henrik the letter so Annemarie had to run to give him the letter or her mom said it all would be for nothing. CH.14 Annemarie is on her way to her uncle on the path she hears a man yell halte then she finds three armed soilders by the opening to where she was going. CH. 15 Annemarie gets stopped by german soilders they look in her basket and take her bread and feed it to his dogs then they asked her some questions then found the note and there was a hankerchief then she ran to uncle henrik to give him is note / lunch he told her to tell her mom everthing is fine. CH.16 Annemarie gets home and all of them are safe and they all eat dinner together then unvle henrik tell annemarie about everthing like that the hankerchief messes the dogs smell up so they cant sniff out the people. CH. 17 Annnemarie kirsti and mom make it back home then two years later the war is over and everone is fine but peter he was shot because he was caught helping jews.
